One of our door springs broke on Saturday 06/04/2016, so we called our former garage door company that had installed the door originally. Their tech arrived later that day and replaced both springs but in the process he broke the belt to our 3-yr old opener, which they had also installed. The tech said they no longer serviced that brand of opener because they were “junk” and he couldn’t help us, so I had to open the door manually. Unfortunately, the tech had not properly balanced the new springs, so my wife was unable to manually open the door.  Not good. Rather than replace the belt on what we quickly discovered online to be an inferior brand of opener, we decided to have a new Liftmaster 8550W opener installed. We also decided to find a new garage door company that we could rely on for complete service, not just bare bones service. Banko was the hands down winner based on so many positive reviews on Yelp. We called Banko on Monday 06/06/2016 and they scheduled us to have a new opener installed the following day between 10 am and 12 noon. Keep in mind that Tropical Storm Colin first hit our area on the afternoon of 06/06/2016 and left our area the following morning 06/07/2016. At 11:30 am on 06/07/2016, Dan called us to say he would arrive about an hour later than 12 noon due to the torrential downpours and subsequent traffic problems caused by TS Colin. We were surprised that he was coming at all, much less only an hour behind the original schedule. Dan arrived when he said he would, and had our new opener installed in about an hour. During that same hour, he also tweaked the adjustment of our new springs so that the door was balanced and my wife could now open it manually if need be. And he also lubricated the door rollers and hinges, and programmed a new keypad. Talk about great service! We can’t say enough good about Banko and Dan. We will have only Banko supply all of our garage door and service needs in the future. Thanks!
