Among the garage door series by Clopay, you’ll find four main door types — Canyon Ridge® Chevron, Canyon Ridge® Carriage House, Canyon Ridge® Collection Modern Series, and Canyon Ridge® Collection Louver Designs. Additionally, Clopay offers innovative garage door features and specifications throughout all of its collections, including Canyon Ridge.

Clopay Garage Door Features

Clopay garage doors come with various features, all of which apply to Canyon Ridge collection garage doors. These features set Clopay apart as an innovator in the field:

Intellicore®

Intellicore is a type of insulation technology that comes with many Clopay products.

Intellicore is a type of insulation technology that comes with many Clopay products. It’s a proprietary insulation that has been designed with the following goals:

  • Reduce energy costs
  • Improve home comfort
  • Increase door strength

Once injected into the garage door, the foam expands and provides insulating capabilities. Depending on the other materials you’ve chosen for the door, the door can achieve an R-value of up to 20.4.

Color Blast®

Clopay Color Blast allows clients to choose from Sherwin-Williams paint colors to achieve their ideal garage door finish. The paint is designed for durability and can be used on multiple door materials, including:

  • Aluminum
  • Steel
  • Vinyl
  • Plastic

The finish is a professional, flat color that comes with Clopay Color Blast system warranty. Some of the colors you can choose from even have solar-reflective paint technology, which can reduce the surface temperature and add to your energy savings.

WindCode®

Clopay has created a rating system called WindCode, which applies to garage doors designed to withstand high winds. Every door that comes with the rating features a ranking from one through nine, indicated by “W1,” “W2” and so on. Any homeowner living in an area prone to hurricanes, tropical storms or similar weather events can benefit from a Clopay garage door with a WindCode rating.

Decorative Hardware

Clopay garage doors can feature many kinds of decorative hardware, allowing you to truly customize your door to align with your preferences and your home’s appearance. While many doors in the Canyon Ridge Collection come with the option to choose standard hardware, you may want to opt for other add-ons to give your garage door the perfect look.

For example, aluminum grip handles offer a modern touch, and other options come with round edges or pointed spears to provide a Colonial appeal. Additionally, you can find more classic handles with keyholes or ring knockers.

Canyon Ridge Chevron

The Canyon Ridge Chevron door is known for its eye-catching chevron pattern that runs vertically across each door.

The Canyon Ridge Chevron door is known for its eye-catching chevron pattern that runs vertically across each door. The cladding pieces are cut at a 45-degree angle, providing that signature inverted “V” pattern reminiscent of French parquet flooring. Today, the doors are made from composite, which allows them to resemble wood and come with little maintenance. Chevron doors feature a five-layer construction, including the Intellicore polyurethane foam insulation.

The Chevron garage door comes in several colors:

  • Walnut
  • Dark
  • Medium
  • Slate
  • Black
  • White
  • Bronze
  • Charcoal
  • Primed

Alternatively, you can choose from various paint colors to complete your garage door’s look. This door type features six small windows at the top, and you can select either large or small panels for the windows, depending on your design goals. Whether you prefer completely frosted windows or would like to let in more natural light, specialty window options can help you create the perfect design.

There are multiple panel color arrangement options, too. The same color panels can all go in one direction, but you can also mix and match, unfolding a whole range of different options and looks. If you have multiple garage doors, you could also consider going in one direction with one tone and then flipping the design for the other.

Canyon Ridge Carriage House

Canyon Ridge Carriage House doors offer exceptional beauty combined with durability, coming in different layers of construction with steel at the base. To ensure the steel stays rust and correction-free, it’s layered with an extra tough coating, including the hot-dipped galvanized layer. This is followed by a protective metal oxide pretreatment. The garage door is sealed with a primer top coat and baked to finish.

These doors are low-maintenance, with corrosion-resistant weather seals and clip-in window grilles you can easily remove to clean, plus WindCore technology for extra strength. Like with other doors in the Canyon Ridge series, you can select one of many window glass options and consider different finishing touches, such as spade left handles or plates. The composite cladding materials for Carriage House doors include:

  • Clear Cypress
  • Mahogany
  • Pecky Cypress

Clopay offers two Carriage House variations — 4-Layer and 5-Layer.

Canyon Ridge® Carriage House 4-Layer

The Carriage House 4-Layer garage door boasts energy efficiency and quiet operations thanks to high-performance nylon ball bearings. The four layers present are:

  1. Steel
  2. Insulation
  3. Steel
  4. Composite overlay

When it comes to colors, you have plenty to choose from — Ultra-Grain® walnut, medium, or slate, or black, white, or primed. The 2-inch Intellicore insulation provides an R-rating of 18.4.

Canyon Ridge® Carriage House 5-Layer

This Carriage House variation offers the same beautiful design and energy efficiency as the Canyon Ridge Carriage House 4-Layer door, but it has an extra layer:

  1. Steel
  2. Insulation
  3. Steel
  4. Composite cladding
  5. Composite overlay

This added layer of steel gives the Canyon Ridge Carriage House 5-Layer door extra strength and durability. It also comes with WindCode capabilities and 2-inch Intellicore insulation that provides an R-value of 20.4. Plus, you can choose from many stunning colors, including walnut, dark, medium, black, white or primed, as well as additional color configurations.

Canyon Ridge Collection Modern Series

If you’re looking for a garage door with clean lines and a modern twist, the Modern Series in the Clopay Ridge Collection may be your go-to choice. The Canyon Ridge Modern Series offers a four-layer construction complete with steel for exceptional strength and durability. This garage door comes with 2-inch Intellicore insulation.

This garage door features either a plain plank door design or one with windows that can be set on one side, both sides or all across the door. The metal inlay option provides sleek metal lines without windows, which can help you achieve an industrial look. Possible colors for the Modern Series door include:

  • Walnut
  • Dark
  • Medium
  • Slate
  • Black
  • White
  • Bronze
  • Charcoal
  • Primed

There are different hardware options available to help complete your garage door’s look, including handles with more classic designs or more intricately detailed options.

The standard option has an R-value of 20.4. However, if you go with the metal inlay design that offers a different look, the R-value is reduced to 18.4. The Modern Series includes Clopay’s unique Safe-T-Bracket® design. The T-bracket ensures that if the bottom brackets were to be removed, the bracket would prevent serious injury.

Canyon Ridge Collection Louver Designs

How to Choose the Best Garage Door Design for You

Clopay’s Canyon Ridge garage door series offers homeowners numerous garage door options that help them meet their design goals without compromising on quality or durability. Thanks to top-grade technology like Intellicore insulation and WindCode ratings, you can be confident your Clopay door is built to last. But with numerous options available in the collection, how can you be sure which one is best for your needs?

  • Style: What does your home’s design look like? Pairing your garage door’s style with your home’s architecture can help you create a cohesive appearance. If your house is a traditional home, then something classic, such as a composite material that resembles wood or a carriage house design, would be striking. In comparison, owners of modern homes may prefer a contemporary look with minimalist design, such as doors with glass or a combination of wood and steel.
  • Material: The finish on your garage door is also a factor to consider. It will contribute to the overall curb appeal and the maintenance requirements. All Canyon Ridge doors come with durable materials and comprehensive maintenance guides to make care simple.
  • Location: The location of your house will help you consider what type of garage door you will need. For example, homes right on the water may deal with salt and moisture buildup on exterior surfaces. Some Canyon Ridge garage door materials offer moisture protection, so consider that aspect when selecting a door from the collection.
  • Privacy: If you want complete privacy in your garage, solid garage doors are the best option. However, you can still achieve privacy while letting natural light in with the right window glass material. All Clopay Canyon Ridge doors come with different window options, allowing you to choose the best arrangement for your needs.
  • Insulation: Is energy efficiency an important factor for you? This is a top consideration for most homeowners and requires insulation throughout the garage, including in the garage door itself. Choose a door with a higher R-value to boost your insulation efforts.
  • Maintenance: Depending on your location and how much time you have to spend on maintenance, some door materials in the collection may be more appealing than others. All Clopay doors are highly durable, though some materials can offer specific advantages that work better for your needs. Reading through the care brochures for each door will help you determine the best fit for you maintenance-wise.
  • Color and finishing touches: Some garage doors have more detailed finishing touches, which could be important to you.
Additionally, certain colors and stains might be more appealing to you than others. Explore each Canyon Ridge door’s specifications to see which variations would suit your home best.
